Andrei Bondarenko returns to Oper Köln for La Bohème

In the wake of his debut at Deutsche Oper Berlin as Eugene Onegin, Andrei Bondarenko spends Christmas in Köln, returning to the city’s opera stage for a revival of La Bohème. As the painter Marcello, the Ukrainian baritone stars in Puccini’s Christmas-set bohemian tragedy December 23, 25, and 28.

Singing the Musetta to his Marcello is Ivana Rusko. Marina Costa Jackson is Mimì, and Jeongki Cho is Rodolfo. Wolfgang Stefan Schwaiger and Kihwan Sim costar as Schaunard and Colline in Michael Hampe’s production. Daniel Carter conducts.
